Eucalyptus - Tortoise Beetle

Genus:  Paropsis Charybdis

Size:  1.3cm
 
Notes:  Eats the edges of eucalyptus leaves. Larvae eject a spray smelling strongly of eucalyptus if alarmed. Adult beetles are able to fly. Cycle from egg to beetle takes about eight weeks.
