Size:  2cm
 
Notes:  An introduced bee which lives in nests in trees and produces large hanging honeycombs. The pollen and nectar is collected from the flowering shrubs in the understorey. Bees live in colonies which can last for many years with the workers, drones and queens being replaced as they die.
