FOREST INDUSTRY ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION
 With almost 400 members across the Australasian forest and wood processing sectors, this group is well known for its excellence in the provision of technical services. FIEA, a division of Innovatek Ltd, mission is "ADVANCING WOOD PROCESSING". This is done through providing key technology programmes and services to the procurement, production, quality control and engineering disciplines within the forest and solid wood processing sectors.
FIEA continues to grow rapidly as the main provider of independent information on new processing and products technologies and a networking agency for the forest products industries throughout Australasia. It produces the most widely read weekly electronic newsletter, Friday Offcuts, by Australasian forestry, wood products and paper companies.
FIEA's annual conference draws together key industry decision makers and contributors to extend industry thinking on critical technical issues of the day. A key feature of FIEA programmes is that they are often led by leading international technologists who assist local wood producers and manufacturers to maintain their wood processing competitiveness.
FIEA membership is largely focused on sawmilling companies and other value-added wood processors. The group is valued for its leading role as a technology transfer provider to members and the wider industry throughout New Zealand and Australia.
