The Principles for Plantation Forest Management were set down with a view to New Zealand achieving environmental excellence in plantation forest management. They are complementary to the New Zealand Forest Accord – a world-leading agreement between leading environmental groups and the forest industry which ensures new plantation areas do not disturb existing native vegetation.
The Principles apply to the ecological, social and economic aspects of New Zealand’s plantation forest management.
